Hey Im going to be graduating high school soon and am getting a new laptop for graduation but i also want to use it to game so i dont have to get a new console or build a pc. I was wondering what good gaming laptops yall would recommend for college max price of 1800 and needs to have good battery life. Thanks for any advice.
Laptops are the worst way to do PC gaming. Gaming Laptops are over $1,000 and You can get a better gaming PC for $800 than you can for $1,400. Also, gaming laptops have bad battery life.
But, if you must buy OEM because "Mommy & Daddy won't let me buy parts, so it has to be an OEM", get the ibuypower Revolt R320 with a 500w PSU and a Titan for $1730 and it will be faster than any gaming laptop that you can get for $4,000 and it will be console sized
But if You MUST buy a gaming Laptop, IDK, it's not my area of expertise. Me personally, if I wanted to play games on a Laptop, I would get a high spec Business Class Laptop that's 4 years old., but I'm not you.
DON'T buy ibuypower or cyberpower. Get an MSI or ASUS, just the most expensive you can get. If its just for gaming, get one with an AMD card, the MSI laptop with the 7970 is about 1100$ on newegg and has the fastest mobile graphics card out there. If you really need productivity, then get an ASUS or MSI with an I-7 and the best graphics card in your budget.
For 1800 you can get one with a GTX 680m but you could always do what I did and get 17" laptop that had a GTX 675 and put in an SSD (make sure to get a laptop with 2 hard drive bays) and you will see the best performance for that price range. I got this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152366, but any ASUS or MSI will be the best bang for your buck. Avoid alienware as its way overpriced, like the 'Apple' of the PC world. Samsungs are ok too.
also I've heard really good things about these guys if you have the money to buy from them. Which it sounds like you do...I'd highly suggest checking out these guys...you can have a laptop customized with tons of options. They even can do dual GTX 680s in SLI =X

i just looked at sagernote and you can get one with i7 gtx 670m 8gb ram 750 hdd and a 256 sdd for 1579 15,4 inches
