Gaming Laptop Dilemma (India)

I am looking for a new laptop that can be used for gaming. I own an XPS L502x (The old XPS 15). Looking for an upgrade. As am in India, the new XPS15 isnt available here. This made me look at other brands and I ended up shortlisting this Asus ROG as the one

But on further consideration i felt this was an older model and it might be better to go for another model.

This brought me to another ROG laptop

and this MSI laptop

but these laptops have only 8gigs of ram and no SSD as opposed to 16gigs of ram and 128GB SSD in the first model. These laptops have GTX1050 GPU while the first one has a GTX960m .
I am planning to buy the Asus ROG GL553VD which has GTX1050 and 8gigs of RAM as recommended by friends... but my friends from other countries say that paying $1524 for a GTX1050 laptop is a not a wise option. I would like to know if there are other options for me. I did consider purchasing the laptop from the US through a friend but dropped the idea as service and support will be an issue if I do so. Are there better models at the same price point or other buying options?
I need inputs from the community on this issue.

tldr
These are pretty clear cut results across the board. Results may vary from game to game, but it's clear that the GTX 1050 is a significant improvement. Remember, too, that the 960M isn't even the last generation bottom rung because the GTX 1050 is for the new Pascal cards.

Whether this is cause to run out and buy a new laptop is up to you, but the new generation of gaming laptops have serious advantages it seems over laptops that are only 12 months old.

Improvements are always good, but NVIDIA went above and beyond this time.

id try to get a laptop with better gpu in it than that,
they are not upgradeable so thats the BEST it will EVER be

They are too big for me, My XPS itself is bulky with its 9cell battery and stuff.

Thank you

A couple of other users here also play Warframe you might have better luck than our ping

I have to say the MSI laptop is the winner for me here.

Very nice ninja grind for gear game.

that's cause I use my cellphone as a hotspot XD
I suppose i'd play less warframe once I get a new laptop. Haven't played FIFA for several months.

i suppose id play LESS once i get a better gaming system

I have to say the MSI laptop is the winner for me here.

What's better in the MSI one ? I see single colour backlit keyboard and stuff.
What I'm concerned about is the longevity and customer support+service that I'd get in this country. I know MSI is a good name in the industry but I'm not sure how it is in India. My Dell XPS is over 6 yrs old, the GPU got bust almost a year ago and the dell service and support has been excellent.
When I contacted Asus customer support to ask about upgradations and stuff, I wasted my time talking to some guy who had no idea what he was talking about. All he told me was " If you do it yourself, your warranty will be void"

I would have to find time for all the games

The GPU, its a true 1050 unlike the other 2

How so? the asus site says GTX1050

this particular model isnt available on amazon.in . Only the 2GB gtx1050 is available , at $1400.

i would not get any gpu under 4gb now

my 6yr old laptop has 2gigs of gpu memory :stuck_out_tongue:
