Gaming headset audio setup for KVM? Gigabyte M34WQ monitor built-in

I have a Gigabyte M34WQ monitor which has a built-in KVM. One leg is a USB Type-C port that would go in a laptop for example, the other leg is DP/HDMI + USB-B for your regular desktop PC.

It also has two type-A ports for the mouse and keyboard, but I bought a USB hub so I can attach more devices. I have a Lenovo 500 webcam with Windows Hello and a Ryzer Seiren v2 X mic that I use for Teams calls. This all works (when the KVM bothers to switch that is).

My problem is that I also have a Drop + Epos PC38X gaming headset that I don’t know how to hook up, mic included. I’m using it with the split audio/mic cable. I prefer to use the headset mic when gaming, the boom mic is too cumbersome.

I’ve been looking for simple DACs that also have a mic jack, but couldn’t really find a good one. I looked at Creative’s Play! 3, but the review I found for it showed really garbage sound coming out of it, so I’m not sure getting a noname brand that’s cheaper than the Play! 3 should even be considered.

Most brand ones I find only have a single analog input. The PC38X does have a combo cable that I could switch to, but at this point I thought I should ask what the general solution is for audio switching. It has to be something simple, I can’t have a DAC/AMP sitting on a USB hub off of a monitor, like the Schiit Fulla or Hel or similar. Doubt it has enough power to go around.
