So have a $1500ish (going a little over is ok) budget for a build that will be used for gaming, editing, animating, rendering and to power a cintiq. I'm not building it for myself its for my girlfriend who's both into various forms of art and games. I'm a nvidea/intel fanboy myself, she really doesn't care. She likes green matched with black. Peripherals and windows key not needed.

EditNote: Noticed I had two SSDs in there, updated the link to fix that.
got 2 versions. one with a 6core one with a 4 core

first ones more expensive, second has more budget left over for more storage or a more expensive case or a k cpu or whatever you want.
so far am liking the first one, can go a bit over and still get storage
You could probably live with just an i7 6700 for way less
but I'd focus on the display set up more than anything, includes 3 1080p IPS displays with display port for ez triple monitors

when do you need it? amd is going to release zen pretty soon and if you are willing to wait a few month it'll make more sense to wait. if nothing else you'll get the intel stuff on sale. amd is releasing a hyper threaded 8 core cpu aimed at normal people that is supposed to be equal to the i7 6800k.
I lol'd
devil has shit power. they went cheap on the parts and the power delivery can barley do 150 watts and gets hot. you are better with off with a nitro or almost anything else.
Slightly over budget.
But i do think that this would be a very badass system.
I have thought about the black / green color theme.
The Asus X99-A II has RGB led´s on it, which you could set to green.
For the rest i went with a black green case.
list:
- 6800K.
- Asus X99-II mobo.
- Be-quiet Dark Rock 3 cooler.
- 4x4GB DDR4 3000mhz Corsair vengeance lpx ram.
- Samsung 850EVO 256GB SSD
- WD Caviar Blue 1TB
- Gigabyte GTX1070 G1 Gaming card.
- EVGA 650W G2 psu.
- NZXT S340 Designed by Razer.

With option 2 i made one change so that it does fit in your budget.
i replaced the 6800K Broadwell-E with a 5820K Haswell-E chip.
With this second option you might also be able to go with 4x8GB DDR4 instead of 4x4GB DDR4 if you prefer that.
Or you could spend a bit extra on storage if you like.
Let me know your thoughts.
Don't know the display set up, might just be single 1080p display
@fredrich_nietze
It's fiiine for the normal user, not the best clearly, it's only for the heavy overclocker that it's a bad card, aside from the tiny fans, but it was the only reasonably priced after market card I saw with 3 display port
He did an update video for the 480 version anyways, and I think I read somewhere that they have revised cards? possibly
Would we be willing to take a risk and buy a gigabyte z170 sniper board from ebay?
I'd rather go for all new and not take the chances with used equipment, need it early/mid November am liking the first option for Mystic Angel as well, a little bit over budget is ok. I'm not as familiar with the 1070 series as I should be, if she or I ever wanted to add a second card would that suffice, also correct my if I'm wrong but the windforce gpu the lighting on the side is as well rgb if I recall correctly so would work nicely. I would prefer the 6800 as I'm sure it would perform rather well for most of her needs she is rather big into animation and to a lesser extend video editing both subjects I admit I lack in knowledge of though do know they like to use the cpu.
I mean it would be new from a half decent seller.
I just think that the g1 sniper board with the razer case that mystic suggested would like really nice.
Well the GTX1070 basicly is a slightly cut down version of the GTX1080.
The GTX1070 and GTX1080 basicly are the current topend gaming gpu´s.
If you take the Titan XP out of the equasion.
Nvidia cards are also very nice in certain rendering workloads.
If the software supports it.
Like this guy, probably the most underapreciated channel on youtube.
I'd do something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bmvW9W
I7 6800k, good noctua cooler, good mobo, lots of ram, a great Phison SSD, 1TB Hdd, a Gtx 1070, NZXT Phantom, and a gold psu. Pretty simple, it'll edit like a boss with all of those cores and CUDA Acceleration in supported editing suites.
