Gaming/desktop freezing problem

since my new build my pc will occasionally freeze on me.
it first started when playing a legal copy of gta4, at that point i thought it was just the crappy port R* did. but then i installed l4d2 from steam and it worked for a while through about 1 complete versus match, and then froze. same with fallout3 except fallout 3 i could still hear the sound.
then i left my pc on overnight to find out it froze on the screen saver (if that's and conciliation)
then i rolled back my drivers on my 9600 to the last version before the current on nvidia's site.
it worked all day playing tf2 and i disabled the screensaver and fell asleep to find out that this morning it froze again at the desktop.

now i ask you all if you might know what my problem is.

my new rigs specs are
AMD athlon II X4 2.6 (oc to 2.8)
biostar mcp6p M2+ mobo
2gb PQI ram
320 Seagate harddrive.
9600 GSO.
using win 7 ult build 7600

Try manually setting RAM timings and voltage. After that turn off Cool N' Quiet. Then update BIOS.

I think you mean uc to 2.

thanks. i haven't had this problem in a few days.

Bump up the vcore

That's what I usually do for AMD CPU's. But I've noticed that at some point, no matter how high the Vcore, they stop being stable. That's usually only a few hundred MHZ, it seems there's another variable.

haven't had any problems in over 3 weeks overclocked too 2.8.
its good to have a new pc.

I'v seem to encounter this problem again.
windows 7 has informed me lately that there is a hard drive problem.
could that be causing this problem?
