I'd like to build my first Gaming PC and I didn't want to spend over $1150. Any suggestions where to put more money into and what not would be greatly appreciated.

You could spend less by moving down to a 660 Ti which is perfectly good for pretty much any game at this moment. Otherwise you can also save about $20 on your RAM at NCIX they have plenty of 8 GB RAM kits for >$35. Also they have a 660 TI for only $259. You might also want to look at their CPU+Mobo combo deals. They're really good. You can save a good $50 there. That's about all the advice I can give. Check out this link for the deals I was talking about. http://ncix.ca/promo/promosale.php?webid=ActionPacked2012
pc partpicker looks at ncix... and I never reccomend skimping on the gfx card
Get a Radeon 7870 instead. It's cheaper and faster than the 660 Ti, it only gets beat at NVidia games. Or, you could still fit a Radeon 7950 in you budget. DirectCanada has them for as low as $290. It has the same situation as the 7870 except with the 670. Plus it has 3GBs of ram.
yep, and switch to a WD drive, they make more reliable drives than seagate
@Z, agreed. If you'd like, you can check out my build so far for a budget rig, AMD option. Feel free to comment.
Thanks for the comments I think ill get cheaper ram and a better hard drive
Ok so I've updated this parts list to this:

Ive heard that the reference design 7970 fans are really loud, which 7970's have decent fans.
LOL, it's like you read my mind. This is a great budget build, and have come up with it myself, too. Almost everything is the same, even the Zalman Z11. The only thing I would swap out are the Biostar mobo( for that price you can get a decent Gigabyte, ASUS, ASRock mobo) and the PSU. I'd change the PSU brand to either SeaSonic, Antec or Cooler Master
xfx is basically reboxed seasonic, they're good too
always get a nice gfx card and mobo, RAM you can get away with, good power supply and cooling case. Good luck with your build
