Gaming build $1250ish

Budget: is around $1250.

This build is for a good friend of mine.

Location: Live in Australia websites like http://pccasegear.com/ and http://www.scorptec.com.au/ are within pickup location to me.

Peripherals: Have all the necessary peripherals just focusing on the box.

Purpose: Primarily a Gaming rig with some light photoshop/pro tools.

OCing: Nothing extreme i figure some light GPU/CPU OCing as i doubt my friend will rarely open it up after its built.

OS: Don't need a new OS.

Gaming: Would like to max as many games as possible in 1080p. for the types of games being played: Fallout 3/NV, FarCry3, Dead Space series, Devil May Cry, CoD series, A fairly general set of games.

Note: We already own the following: Corsair AX760 Platinum PSU & G.Skill Ripjaws Z F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH RAM.

Also my friend wants to stick with getting the 'CoolerMaster CM Storm Trooper with Window' case.

Here's a list i put togeather for him but i figure you folks would have a better idea :P PCparkpicker http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/1NnXu

I thought about swapping that 7970 for the MSI R9 280X Gaming 3GB as they're the same price but at the moment the 7970 has the never settle bonus. So should we wait for the R9 to get the never settle and get that instead or a different GPU entirely?

i would change this gigabyte card and go for the asus matrix hd 7970 ghz. uuummm just search it on a site that works for you. i have found it for $409. however, the ASUS Matrix r9 280x just came out for $350 but i do not have experience or reviews of that card yet, so i cannot say for sure.
