Gaming and music headset 150 euros

as the title says, i need a headphone for around 150 euros.

i would like a detatchable mic. so i dont look wierd when i take it with me, or one of those that fold into the earcups...

im going to be using them for FPS games, and music.

im also buying a soundcard with it.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Don't buy a headset.

Get a pair of ATH-AD700 and an Asus Xonar DG soundcard. For a microphone get a desktop mic or something like this with the headphone part removed and microphone attached to your headphones.

If you a pair of more compact headphones that can be folded, buy the ATH-M50. Beware that they are not as good for gaming as the ATH-AD700.

thats a good idea, tnx.

any recommendations for a good desktop mic?

i have the ATH-M50's and have listened to my roommates ATH-AD700's. the 700's have a bit less of a sound stage, and are much weaker with the bass, so its not as nice for music, however because it lacks the bass you can hear footsteps a bit better.

that being said, i game with my M50's and love them... i had a pair of cyber snipa sonar 5.1's before them, and the M50's have better directional sound than the "surround sound" headset.

also, if you go on amazon and search zalman mic, its a clip on mic that usualy sells for 4-10 dollars based on the sales and what not.sounds clear, has a nice long cable, and you can detach it whenever you want.

tl;dr: headset bad. get zalman mic. if you like music, M50's. if you are a try-hard gamer, the AD700's might be a bit better, but i game with the M50's and love them, and if i had the choice of using both, i would stick with the m50.

tnx man, any recommendations on good soundcards? i had the Xonar dsx in mind, thoughts?

Soundstage is actually better on the AD700s.

I honestly wouldn't buy the AD700's if you want a good music experience too, I'm no basshead but they don't have any bass at all. They're a good footstep simulator though. If you're going to use them as portable too you want closed headphones and not open. ATH-M50 is probably a solid choice, another one that folds up completely  is Ultrasone DJ1, or HFI-580 if you prefer that design, it's the same headphone, only difference is DJ1 has a coiled cable and HFI-580 has a straight one.

For the mic, I use a Zalman ZM-Mic1 and it works fine for voice communication, no need to spend more.

For the soundcard, get the DGX instead, it has a better headphone amplifier.
