Game Server Build Need Help

I am looking to build a game server for a few of my friends, family and a few of my girlfriends friends, family and who ever they bring along. I would like to be able to run service like Mumble and a few games such as GMOD TF2 MINECRAFT possibly another game. All at the same time to give people options I know we are starting out with about 25 30 people who said they would come on but you never really know could be more or less. I know I have the bandwidth available with fiber coming to my area and me switching over to that when it does. How much am I looking to Spend on this build and what would I need I am completely lost. I was thinking an i7 4770 or a xeon and 32gb of ram. Does the speed of ram count in a server such as this? Would I need an extra network card? I am just lost I just need a list of hardware so I can hit buy lol.

I'm not an expert on these things, but I have some basic knowledge.

This would not take much space and would be fairly quiet with that H60 watercooler and noctua fan.

I think 16 GB would be enough to run servers.

In my opinion the onboard networking is fairly good on modern motherboards and no need for a network card

Hope this helped :)

Nice I hope so :D  ill probably give that a try worst case scenario I have a new HTPC lol

The 280x can be used to offload physics and world generation from the CPU if you use the correct mods with Minecraft server. Keep in mind this is consumer grade hardware, if you want to go the full nine yards, go with enterprise grade hardware such as the Aviton CPUs Wendell reviewed or a higher end Xeon with an appropriate matching motherboard.
