Game Recommendations?

I was just wondering if there were any games that y'all on the forums would recommend on the genres of rpg (MMO aswell),rts or fps just because I'm getting tired of playing league of legends for hours on end w/ my friends.

If you don't mind turn-based RTS, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is good.

A mix of turn-based and real-time, most Total War titles.

Rising Storm is a nice FPS game with a clear hierarchy. The team with the best chain of command wins. So there's a higher level of strategy, teamwork and communication involved. A little bit of role-play mixed in.

All the above suggestions go on sale frequently.

Firefall is a pretty good f2p 1st/3rd person shooter mmo worth checking out for something different.

Team Fortress 2 is a simple and fun f2p fps.

Morrowind was probably my favorite rpg out of the Elder Scroll series that I've played, plus there's some great mods which you can download and add to it as well.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, its a fantastic dark sci-fi semi-open world shooter set inside the Chernobyl zone of exclusion after a second mysterious meltdown occurred. Its best played mods like Oblivion Lost or STALKER complete because the vanilla game had some cut content that did not make sense story wise to be cut out such as a phenomenon called a blowout.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is another great game set in a different part of the "Zone". It is also best enjoyed with mods like COP reloaded (or is it complete, can't remember).

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha is yet another great STALKER game. This one is a lovingly crafted (by modders with the help of the original publisher) remake of Shadow of Chernobyl based on an alpha build of the game (from before they cut content) and it is a completed version of that alpha it is completely stand alone and FREE from moddb:

Enough gushing over STALKER now, there is also fun to be had with the infamous Dark Souls, with DSFix of course because it was From software's first PC port and they botched it pretty bad, I've heard Dark Souls II is nowhere near as dreadful

There are also many many others I could list out but I've text walled enough, if you want me to list anymore feel free to ask :)

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

its an awesome RPG that is based of the Half-Life 2 Engine, word of warning the game is buggy you need to install community patches. but a quick summary, your sire (the guy who turns you into a vampire) gets murdered for turning you into a vampire without the prince of vampire's permission (due to population control), you then get thrown into the world by the prince of vampires and you must learn to survive on your own with the help of an individual named jack. you can deal with the politics of vampires or fight against it. the game is very story driven and it does have a cult following.

V:TM-B is awesome, if the occasional bugs and nowadays outdated graphics aren't a problem.

Men of War:Assault Squad 2 is pretty nice rts imo, i really like the destructability of almost everything and the combat thefts (i.e. if you kill enemy crew from gun or vehicle, you might be able to steal it for your own use or repair it for own use.). Also almost everyting is simulated, you can't do anything to tanks with rifles, but most vehicles got limited vision so if it isn't protected by infantry, that expensive tank is just food for an antitank weapon or grenade.

Wargame: Red Dragon is another interesting rts, but i just got it so i don't want to say too much of it as i might misinterpret it, seems fun from what i've tried even if i think i won't be able to handle it all.

Any interest in the Crusader Kings 2 or Europa Universalis 4? Both are pretty fun for alternate histories, CK2 more "personal", as you try run your own dynasty and plots, where as EU4 is directly about a nation.

Payday 2 is pretty fun, but i've only played it with friends and i actually think you really want to have those friend to play that game with,2 manning heists is already good stuff, and with 3 or 4 it gets to how it should be. No idea on the random population, might be good, might be bad. I have only played it with friends when they're on.
