So, I just build a massive Threadripper 3960x on the Gigabyte Aorus TRX40 Master platform and rocking a Nvidia 680 and Nvidia 1080, with 128GB RAM, and dual Samsung 870 1TB NVME drives.
Build is Zenith II GOD Build (Threadripper)
I built this system for VM gaming, plus some other work loads as well, such as game server’s and such.
Issue I have is that in certain games, like RUST, I get shit stuttering, with an average FPS of around 60-70 on max settings in the VM. I know this hardware plays games great on Bare Metal, but the stuttering is very intermittent, but happens a quite often.
Now, I’m not sure if it is stuttering or network lag, as I play other games like War Thunder and City: Skylines and have very little issues, if any. I know certain games will play differently, but I’m just not sure if I have my CPU pinning correct for this build or if the performance I ask just isn’t there in RUST.
