Hi guys Im about to get a new phone, but can't decide between the s4 and the one or wait for the note 3. I will be using the phone for school and just regular smartphone stuff. Just a few notes- I dont care about the appearence of the phone, Im just going to slap a case on it. And I don't care about social media stuff like the blink feed because I dont go on facebook.
I guess the HTC vs the S4 is more or less a matter of personal preferences in your case. I honestly could say which is best for you, both are pretty great phones and i dont think you would go wrong buying either. However if you do not care about looks and dont mind the size of the note 3 and consume a lot of videos/news/books the larger screen is worth the wait in my opinion.
If you are planning on using it for school a lot, then I'd wait for the Note 3. The larger screen, the stylus, and all of the apps and extras that come with it, will definitelly be helpful for school. I've used my Galaxy Nexus for school a lot. Taking pics of the board and book. Reading books and assignments from PDFs on my phone. Taking notes. Graphic calculator (there's a few Texas Intruments emulators out there, though they have to be installed manually). I kind of wish I had a big screen and some of those Touchwiz and Note extras when I was taking classes.
But if you don't really want to wait, I'd pick the S4. Bigger screen, removable battery, expandible storage, overall better camera, more features than the One. The build quality feels pretty cheap on the S4, and that SAMOLED screen might be a plus or a minus, depending on what you prefer.
will the note 3 feature a removable battery and expandable storage? i saw the note 2 today, i couldnt touch it but it didnt look like it would fit in my pocket, can you guys fit the note 2 in your pocket?
I actually carried my Nexus 7 (first gen) to my classes. It fit ok in my jeans pocket. Though I do wear somewhat baggy jeans and shorts. But still, that was a 7" tablet. The Note 3 supposedly will have a 5.9" screen with minimal bezel. So that shouldn't be an issue.
And I would guess that it definitely will have removable battery and expandible storage. Samsung had these features on all of their previous phones, and even tablets, doesn't make sense for them to remove them.
