Luckily no one was injured and everyone evacuated safety, although none of the passengers have claimed the phone, possibly due to a cultural mis-understanding.

He got it the day the new ones came along so it might have still been the old one. The other thing is no one reports on the life the phone led, was he using one of those unsafe scary chargers that is not fit for anything or was he using the official charger?

I've heard this is more a result of shorting development times in concurrent engineering, the demand is so high along with competition, so they will do anything to get these devices out, even if that means cutting corners.
I've read previously this type of issue is associated with overheating, but I don't know much to understand why they might pop. Seems like tech will do anything to get their products out, reminds me of automakers, lol.
