I am putting together a new 1080p gaming pc and want an all black an white theme. I really like the aesthetics of the Hall of Fame 970. But at the same time I have no real preference for either brand and the r9 390 seems to be the better performer? I really am having trouble deciding so any input is appreciated, thanks.
P.S. The Galax is more expensive at 380$ but is still within my budget...
Plasti Dip. Comes in all kids of colors. Works well with electronics.
I had the same problem with my interior. All black accept for cables. Had some Plasti Dip in the garage for another project and with a little research online found out people put it on electronics to help with water resistance and whatnot. I turned an ugly green card black. Just make sure to tape off the important bits prior to spraying. If you don't, no worries! It rubs off with a little elbow grease.

Function and fiscal first, fashion and form last. It doesn't have to be pretty to get the job done. Both the 970 and the 390 are excellent 1080 cards, however I would tend to suggest the 390 on principle alone(fuck you Nvidia!).

Both cards are basicly fine for 1080p.
However i would personaly go for the 390, because according to most benchmarks i have seen sofar,
the 390 seems to perform slightly better in certain games.
That would be the deal breaker for me.
But ofc the GTX970 consumes less power.
That might be a deal breaker for you idk.
plus you get 8GIBS instead of 3.5GIBs of VRAM
