G430 Logitech Headset to Logitech x140

Hi, I don’t know much about audio and sound related stuff, but there is something that I need to know since I will be upgrading all my gaming setup in a couple of months.

I am Using a G430 Logitech Headset, that comes with an USB adapter, which allows you to use that 7.1 surround, or you can take that off and plug it directly to the PC, speaker, etc…

Whenever I use the USB adapter and the 7.1 surround is turned on or off, I have problems playing games and listening to music at the same time, and the sound it is not that good. On the other hand If I connect them directly to my old Logitech x140 speakers, they sound amazing ( in my poor opinion ).

So I guess my question comes down to. If I want to upgrade I would need to buy a good pair of headphones and connect them to some good speakers? I have tested them using the USB adapter (that come with the g430), connecting them directly to the motherboard and lastly to my Logitech x140 speakers, by far connecting them to the Speakers sound the best.

Thanks in advance for your answers, and sorry for my poor English.
