I bought the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo Cooler expecting to be able to do some minor overclocking on my AMD FX-8320 but my temps seem to be a bit high.
Using a Thermaltake V3 Midi Tower with just the fan that came with it. And the termal paste that came with the cooler.
More case fans, better quality termal paste, or is there just no hope for overclocking this particular chip?
well to start you have a small air cooler so dont exspect great temps. even so they their is a few things you can do. first off get new thermal compond. if you used the stock and its over 6 months old its probly started to dry. i would suggest you to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608008 and follow this guide to put the thermal compound on.http://tinyurl.com/b5uuuts
also dust your pc out. buy a can of air and have at it. (do not use a vacuum cleaner) if the can of air gets cold run it under hot water.
