Basically to cut to the chase, I was playing metro last light when i realised my CPU temp was reading 66c.... this time a month ago the max it would reach was high 50s. Anyone else get this with metro last light or is there something i'm missing :/
My FX8350 with former stock cooler, hitted mostly 55 degrees, on full load, but after a year of usage, it went dusty and then my cpu temp ramped up to 65 degrees on full load, so check if there is any dust at the cooler.
i changed my stock cooler, for a highend aircooler, and now my cpu idles arround 28 degrees, and wenn gaming it does not get much warmer then 42 degrees.
Yeah i would either clean your cooler or get a new on, i can recommend this https://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rls12v24pkr1 that i have for my 8320, seems to max out at around 30c at stock speeds
The stock cooler for that CPU (ones made by foxconn for the the 125-130 watt TDP AMD CPU's), have a higher than normal fin density, to they clog much more quickly than most other coolers (similar to how quickly a laptop heatsink will clog with dust)
If your case does not have filters, and you run the computer most of the day or 24/7, then expect to clean that heatsink every 2 months at the least to keep it cooling well.
Also after around 2 years, the stock thermal compound becomes hard and brittle and does not transfer heat as well as when new.
