FX-8350 or I5 3570K?

So, I want to buy a new PC. Of course I need a CPU.

Which one should I go with - the AMD FX 8350 or the Intel i5 3570K?

I have a friend who told me that AMD CPUs sucks and that i should go intel.

I am now very confused as to which one is better.

I will use my pc for gaming, surf the web.

PS: My graphic card is a Sapphire Raedon HD7970 Vapor-X 3GB

Sweet. Zombie. Jesus. Have you not seen the 600 other 8350 vs. 3570k threads that popped up after the videos that the crew produced? For that budget, the 8350 will always be the better choice.

I believe the key point he's making, is that his friend is an intel fanboy.

It's a complicated senario.
I'd go with the i5-3570k.

Why? Because more cores doesn't mean more performance.

The arguments back and forth are real but if you can tell the difference in the real world I'm less certain. Swings and roundabouts. The guys are right this topic has been done to death. You are going to be happy with either. I just like the way AMD clear the path for upgrade's in a way Intel block with socket chipset changes and the like.

here'e the anwser on every other fucking repetition of this thread:

it depends what your doing, if you cand afford to spend a little more and need higher per core performance for things such as old games, poorly optimized games and emulators go with intel.

but, if you wanna save some money and get similar performance go AMD, but bear in mind the per core performance is lower.

I personally would go with AMD and invest more in a GPU with the money saved.

and if your going for a high end processor get a good board too

even though I have a 3570k if I was just gaming (which i mostly what my PC is for) and knowing PS4 is using a 8 core AMD I would do AMD FX 8350. In either case, I assume both will forever spank the CPU's in PS4 and "Xbox 720".

Logan made a video about this subject, Here's the Link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE

I think the AMD FX 8350 Would be a good choice.

Plus you'll save some money.

Go for the Core i5 3570k I'm using it right now and it has  awesome performance! But make sure to get a good cpu cooler for it cause man it does get warm and I would recommend the cooler Logan reviewed just recently the Xigmatek Dark Knight II Knight hawk Edition.

Go for the 8350. It beats the 3570k nine times out of ten, honestly. Logan has even said that the 8350 is decent at editing. Other reasons to go with the 8350, it's not on a dead socket, it's more value for the money (yes, it really is) and 4ghz right out of the box. Also, AMD boards are jam packed with features. My 8350 is oc'd at 4.7Ghz without a single hitch, and it was extremely easy. Going to go straight to 5 once i get my new cooler.

You are asking about CPU decisions but I have not heard what motherboard you are planning on using. A great CPU in a crapy motherboard will not work worth a darn. They are both  excellent CPUs. Find the motherboard you would like to use for the Intel and the AMD and that might help you decide which way to go.

Listen,

I got a fx 8350 with a 7970

SIDENOTE:

i even have it in crossfire and it scales pretty nice. Yes I'm crazy. Shoot me!!!!!!!

Look, if I put all the filters at max, the cpu DOES NOT BOTTLENECK. How do I know this?
GPU usage is two times 99%. I know the cpu is the bottleneck when I do not do this.
But when, unlike normal systems, the GPU is not really the bottleneck, you can go rampage on the filters and get away with it. I get away with it with a smooth framerate.

Now, when i look at posted benchmarks all over the world, i end up WITH THE SAME FRAMERATES. especially with eyefinity and high filter settings, then I even get higher sometimes if the game likes cores.

IMPORTANT NOTE: every benchmark of GPU's on this very planet is always done with an intel processor.

IMPORTANT CONCLUSION: If intel is the benchmark-cpu to go with, will someone please explain me why I generally have the same framerates as all those benchmarks?

My friends and the internet have accused me of madness why i put 7970 in xfire with an 8350.
However, when i put fulters at msaa x8, and divert stress to the GPU's, I see alot of jawdropping around me.

Now after you read all this, imagine all that, while I tell you how much I payed for all that hardware. I think I saved tons of money. I just have to tweak the filters a little to take full advantage of the GPU's and the CPU, and I'm good to go.

Don't get me wrong, with the xfire set up there is a CPU bottleneck in some games. but with tweaking and actually accepting this fact, the "damage" is alot lower than most people actually realise.
In optimised games like crysis3 and bf3, I can make the CPU bottleneck completely disappear. You have my word for this.

Buy the AMD just the same real world performance.
And you support the underdog !

Comming from an Intel "fanboy"

AMD FX8350

If you're mostly gaming and just surfing the web get the fx8350. I have the 3570k but it's because I do other tasks that make use of the i5s architecture. For gaming you should be fine with the AMD.

interesting tactic

promote and increase amd market share, forcing intel to come down in price so you can buy your next intel cpu for a cheaper price...

Very machiavelli :P

I like it

I5-3570k extremyl cheap at a microcenter, but if your near a microcenter than just get an i7-3770k like I did. You won't regret it. My system overall runs faster than my amd 8320. My ssd boots faster because of intels technology (forgot the term). Also alot of my programs load faster. For gaming its around the same but hey, I'm using less power and I don't plan on upgrading for atleast 5 years now.

If you chose amd just make sure to not go cheap on the motherboard and get some decent ram least 1600mhz. Make sure to overclock it! Best of luck hopefully my insite helped.

AMDfx 8350

keep in mind that the new console ports are going to be using 8 threads, since the new xbawx and ps4 are both going to use 8 core AMD processors...

Go with the AMD unless your playing Planetside 2 because AMD sadly sucks in that game.
