FX 8350 or an Intel 3570K

Hi guys I am new here. I just cannot decide between the FX and 3570K for my new build. I will be coupling the Processor with a 7950 Oc'ed and I will be using it only for gaming.

for gaming only i would go with intel i5 because it uses less watts.

and they perform about the same.

why would you even care about power usage in a DESKTOP

I dont Care about power.

Well it doesnt really matter if you care or not they peform the same except for multi threating.

the 8350 is overall better and will be better optimized later.

So just pick one they are about the same.

Mate, Just tell me about this build,

Get an NZXT Source 210 elite case. Better hard drive. Probably at least a 550watt psu. Can find 8g of 1600mhz ram for about 13$ less.

Thanks for the suggestion! But Hardware wise, will the build be ok for about three years?

It will.

my suggested changes, add a 2nd 7870xt later(the 7870xt come VERY close to a 7950 in perf but cost around 100 less)

honestly the 7950 is a nice card, but, for the price, the 7870xt is a better buy, i have 2 normal 7870's and they ROCK (duno why logan had issues with cfx but, i been running cfx for years now without any problems!!!)

Id go with an XT too, the 7950 is only about 40$ more if you want that, youll se slightly higer gains Overclocking a 7950 compared to an XT but for the price either of those cards are well worth the $$$

also note, dont buy an ssd under 128gb, trust me, you will not be happy with a tiny ssd, just get 16 or 32gb ram, and use fancycache to boost the perf of a decent capactity hdd like I have been doing.

i have been using it for some time, its amazing, faster then ssd for a games drive, I have 32gb ram, I dedicate 16-24gb to my games drive( got a coupe games that have HUGE files they access regularly)

most of the time, I use 16gb for games, and give my windows drive a 4gb cache, this even speeds up load to desktop when windows starts, great little app, and for the moment its freeeeee

its also worth noting, i was taking price wise about them a2 months ago for a decent one like a windforce(do not get one with a ref amd cooler, you want a windforce or dualx if your gonna get a 7950, the msi is ok as well, best though is the gigabyte windforce cards)

lowest 7950 i would buy, but honestly, they are so close, save your money, with that board, you could easily add a 2nd one later and get better then 7970 perf!!!!

Try that.

Guys Anyone?

I wold say a FX-8350 x8 cores because more cores is better future proof!

Also logan did say that this CPU is verry good it did better that 3 intel i5 CPUs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE&list=UUNovoA9w0KnxyDP5bGrOYzg&index=23

Ok Mates, Will an i5 3470 with a GTX 670 or 7970 be better?

Well if you can afford a 7970, you might as well get a 680
