FX 8350 motherboard

I'm running a Gigabyte UD5 and am very happy with it.  Good overclocker for me.

All I know is that they're not exactly well known, and I used one in my first build and it died on me after 6 months. I see buying a biostar motherboard as about the equivalent of buying a Coby tv: cheap in both price and quality.

I am running an Asus crosshair v formula z, it is very good.  I used to have Gigabyte ud7, which did not run my ram at full speed and blew so I went for the Asus, which was the one I was going buy in the first place.

you probably didnt set the ram speed right, which you have to manually do in BIOS

and if above 1866, have to overclock to do so

I tried lots of times to do it ending up contacting Gigabyte which did not help at all, it is highend crucial 1866 mem, my Assus has no problems with it.

Sorry to hear that about your local shop. You will have to check to see where various companies will ship to for your country if your shop is useless. I cannot say one way or the other about Biostar as I personally have never had any personal experience with that board. That being said, everything I have read about them tells me they tend to use lower quality parts to keep their prices down. The board mentioned in your question does have a 3  year warranty so perhaps they have improved but again, personally I would stick to Gigabyte or Asus. I know what I am getting from them is a quality board, period.

Well, then sorry for your loss. But please don't say that one company is bad based on one bad experience you had with them.
