FX-8350 Build

Hey guys,

I wanna build a PC with the FX-8350, but I'm a little bit unconfident.

Here's my component list:

CPU: AMD FX-8350

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0

Ram: G.Skill TridentX 8GB Kit

Case: Zalman Z11

Graka: HIS HD 7870 IceQ X Turbo

PSU: Thermaltake Smart M750W

Harddrive: -ADATA SX900 128GB (For Windows and a few Programms)

                 -WD Caviar Green 2TB (Storage)

CPU-cooler: Ximatek dark knight night hawk edition

Optical drive: Already got one

Is there anything I should change? It would be nice if you could help me :D

I've just been searching gfx cards. The HIS 7870 IceQ (without the X) is the same price, the same card but cools a few degrees more efficiant. If your going for overclocking. If not, doesn't really matter.

Also, whats your budget? just so suggesting swapping products keeps you near what you had in mind. Although does after quick search on products does seem to be a pretty decent build

I want to spend about 800-900€

Looks pretty good, but you could save some money on the power supply, unless you plan on getting another video card somewhere down the road for crossfire. You don't really need 750 watts. I would suggest going with a 550 or 650 watt. I would also suggest getting a Caviar Black rather than a green. The greens are pretty slow, and they don't really save you any power.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong...but isn't a 750W PSU more future-proof?

It depends on how you look at it. If you're going to be keeping it for future builds, then yes, but if you're not going to be getting a second video card and you're not going to be using it for future builds, then you really don't need the extra power.

Ok thanks

What about the memory? is it ok ?

It looks good to me as long as your motherboard supports the speed.

change the psu to a corsair or seasonic 650 watt to save money

Are you sure the 7870 is gonna fit in the Zalman case??

Nope... in the case fits a graka up to 29 cm but the 7870 has a length 29,7 cm seems like I have to get the HIS 7870 IceQ X or cutout a small area in the case :D

you should consider the 7870 LE

about 15-25% better performance over any standard 7870

but you cant crossfire it with a standard 7870, only another 7870LE or a 7950

The "Tahiti" from Powercolor?

Parts will be taking less and less power as they get more eficient, so getting a very powerful power supply now may be a bit much for "future proof" builds
