Heres my problem. I'm building a gaming computer with a $750 budget including shipping/taxes.
Here are my other specs:
320GB SeaGate 7200RPM HDD - $55
2x2 1866mhz Corsair RAM - $30
Antec Case - $25
Corsair CX500 500W PSU - $55
Now here are my problems/options, Either I go for this:
Biostar 990FX motherboard with FX 8320 and HD 7850 1GB
OR
MSI 970 motherboard with FX 8320 and HD 7870 2GB
Which would be the better choice? THX

Get a 500 GB Western Digital HDD, same price.
Also get the MSI 970 and a 7870 XT. I think you might have to get an update for the mobo since the 970 chipset was for the Bulldozer FX CPU's specifically instead of the Piledriver CPU's. Will still work regardless.
Also what kind of cooler are you using, I hope you don't plan on using the stock cooler...

As far as OCing goes, the power phase is more important than the chipset.
@Foxy, I'm in canada and the WD 500GB is $70 :(.. And the 7870 XT is also $270 here.. >.<
I have some coolermaster I used for an old phenom, which was bought about 5 months ago.
The Biostar is pretty much twice as good in terms of the power phase (I don't remember exactly, but there was a big difference).

The 990 boards mostly have a better power phase. I think there's like, ONE board that has a 970 chipset with a decent power phase.
The chipset really matters more when it comes to SLI and xfire.
