Fx 6300

Do i need an aftermarket cooler for fx 6300 if i'm not overclocking? my room temp is pretty cool, and I'm going to play some graphic intensive games. Will the stock cooler keep the temp cool enough? i expect the maximum temperature to be about 65~70 degrees celcius on full load.

Don't use the stock heat sinks even if you are not overclocking you should just buy a cheap aftermarket cooler like the Hyper 212 evo. It may not be great but it is miles ahead of the intel heatsink.

The stock heat sinck will be fine but its loud becase its small it can spin up to 3500RPM! if you can live with your computer sounding like its going to take off when your pushing the cpu your fine.

But you can get a good low niose one for $20-30

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

I second the above comments. I have an FX-6300 and tested out the stock cooler - it was both horrible at keeping the CPU cool and was loud as all hell. I put a cheap TX3 on it and it is much quieter and even handles a bit of an overclock without issues.
