What do you guys think? I'm hoping all these parts will be available mid next month. I'm also considering different options for memory (I want good speed and CL), storage (maybe 256 ssd with a 500 hd, if cheaper), and power supplies (preferably seasonic).
I might as well experiment with Linux before purchasing Windows 10. Additionally, I'd love to do a ~$500 watercooling build 12 months from now.
Please drop a reply with suggestions or your opinion.
I'm hoping to sell my current build for $900-1100 to help fund this. Edit: I realized I'm missing my 290X here. I might be able to get $1000-1300 for this. I'd love some feedback on the pricing as well. It cost me $1880 two years ago (with watercooling a year ago). And would cost around $1300 to build new. So I guess $999 would be a good price.
im not fully sure if Intel is also going to launch unlocked skylake cpu´s this year. Because that would basicly push their current Broadwell chips out of the market.
According to previous rumors and roadmaps i have seen, Intel will most likely going to launch Skylake soon, but maybe with only locked sku´s for this year. Unlocked skylake chips where planned for Q2-2016, according to older roadmaps. But it can of course be, that intel has changed their strategy.
Atleast i hope for the enthusiast people, who wanne jump the Skylake hype. Build looks great to me.
Thanks for the link, thats exaly interessting. So intel seems to not have enough sku´s ready yet.
I´m currious how this is going to work out.
Seems like intel has changed their plan, but i still dont understand why? Unless intel doesnt have a very large supply of Broadwell chips either. Or that intel Broadwell cpu´s simply dont realy sell that well. And if thats the case, then it does not realy suprise me. Because to me personaly, the whole Broadwell launch doesnt make much sense.
I've gotten a buyer for my current build (He is going to pay $1060, or about ~$600 less than a brand new PC of the same specs. Most of the components are 3 years old with a few recent additions, like the watercooled 290X. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the price. A non-watercooled version of the build would only cost ~$300 more to build.
I've also made some purchases towards my build. Also, I've updated the build to include various improvements. Additionally, I'm also using Newegg promotions to basically get ~$25 off each item I'm purchasing (The savings really add up).

If Newegg follows MSRP for the case and CPU, that would be another $35 in savings as well. I'm pretty excited! It's probably going to be a couple of weeks before I can assemble it though.
Edit3: Updated list again. Only the CPU and case to purchase! I also want to get white sleeving for the PSU cables.
I only need to purchase the 6700k and the Enthoo Pro M. Unfortunately both of these are due to be stocked around the 24th. So it probably will be several days until I can officially put the build together.
Some extra mods I would like to do include painting a few accents white (mainly on the motherboard and GPU) and sleeving the PSU cables white. I'll probably do that after I confirm everything is working properly as it should void my warranty (unless I plastidip, which I hear can nefariously peal off well).
I'll try and follow up with pictures of the parts, but I don't have a high quality camera, only an iPhone/iPod touch camera (don't execute me, it's my family members').
Depending on your budget it may be worth taking a look at the 5820K which is X99. Here in Aus is is only ~$150 cheaper (~100USD), well worth it if you are going to use applications that take advantage of the 6 cores - again up to you. There was a thread on the two CPUs a few days ago - https://forum.teksyndicate.com/t/i7-6700k-or-i7-5820k-solved/85896
