i was wondering if its weather getting the gtx770 4gb because i dont want to upgrade for a few years and i im not sure if the 2gb verson could handle next years games and games that come out in 2015. i game at 1080p. and i know i wont get much benefit for haveing the 4 GB card im wondering if its more future proof. i might buy another 770 if the price drops enough
the rig i'm building
amd fx 6300
asus sabertooth 990fx R2.0
gtx 770
8gb ram
1 tb hddd
i know the HD 7970 has 3 Gb ram but its older so it might not run future games so well.
if you understood that well done :)
Well, I just want to come out and say "No build is ever future proof." New tech will always be coming out to make the old one either standard issue or obsolete. Now I know that's not what you're asking, but I think you should know:)
And as for a GPU to make sure that your machine will be able to play future games, that 770 4gb sounds perfect. Me personally, I'd spend the money and invest in a superpower card duo of a 590 and a Quadro for 10-bit color interface. Now, if you don't have the budget for that, your 770 4gb will work fine, but it'll be doing all the work on its own. A 770 4gb sounds great though and if you can find one (or two for SLI), then awesome! It's already better than my machine:)
