Future Budget Rig Help

Hello,

I'm planning to build a desktop PC, mainly for audio work such as cubase, and my current laptop can handle that reasonably well, I do however occasionally play games, so I need some more power where I can get it. I want to ry and keep the cost down as much as possible, without spending more unless the performance justifies it.

Here are the things I found in a few minutes searching;

Proccessor: AMD A-10 Quad Core APU

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4

RAM: Kingston 1866MHz HyperX Memory 8GB )2x4gb

HDD: Western Digital WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200rpm

That's all I have so far, I still need to find a case, one I was looking at was the XCASE K-13, but I don't want to get it, and realise it doesn't actually fit all the stuff in, as this is my first PC build.

I would like help in things I would need, such as a 5.1 surround card if I need one, as well as things I have left out. Also, where I could save money without compromising too much storage or performance.

Thanks for the help in advance

Literally search up the Asus Xonar line, find the one in your price range with the features you need and you're good.

The a-10 apu should be able to handle HD video, and new releases at low-medium. i'd spend the majority of the build money on a xonar or essence sound card from Asus. As for cases, snag an antec 300, or anything thats on sale for ~$70 or less.

I looked at both, and figured I'd probably go for the Xonar line, as it has 5.1 sound, also, it says compatability is vista/xp 32 and 64-bit, does that mean it runs on just them, or would Win7 work too, as that is what I'm planning to use.
