So I am about to leave Terra. I ordered the google cardboard vr setup. The more expensive ones, not the cheap kind. I got sennheiser earbuds that support 3d surround sound. I got my lg g3. Now I have found the final piece to the puzzle. I was told by people why buy leapmotion? It is a waste, blah blah blah. I am guessing with a little work it will work well with android. So now you got your primary controller, kinect hand gestures. All you need now is some acid or something else and get a trippy visualizer that is interactive.
Let's be serious guys, the marketing boys have promised us holodecks, and we're not getting it, not even close. I won't settle for anything less than a holodeck lol
Have you seen the behind the scenes of that new Disney flick? They programmed San Francisco, including interiors of every house, into one big 3D sim with full physical and complex lighting. Tested did a video on it on YouTube. Apparently, there are actually people that want to program this kind of stuff. Fascinating...
So is this doable though? I mean using http://www.ebay.com/itm/271642117740?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and my G3 plus the Leap?
What I am really excited about is the entertainment value in VR. Not even for gaming. Simply movies, television, netflix, etc. I mean bluray ripped godzilla or pacific rim would look awefully sweet on a 2k screen for vr. Plus dsp manager and virtual surround sound and in the ear earbuds. Oh my baby, fuck off movie theaters and even my year old smart tv.
