Freeze After Sleep

Hello Everyone,

I am currently running ubuntu 14.04 and I love it for the most part. There are just a few things I have issues with. One of the main ones is that if I close my laptop (lenovo y410p) and come back to it a minute later, I can log in but after that, everything freezes. I cannot even access the terminal view. Some forums have said that it is due to a mismatch in drivers with nvidia, but nothing that has been suggested has worked. Any suggestions?

I too have a similar issue on my toshiba laptop, It wont wake up at all after sleep, I had to just turn sleeping off in the settings but im curious if anyone has a solution for this.

In my experience, using the proprietary drivers can result in this behavior. Are you using the proprietary drivers?

Not as far as I know. I changed my nvidia drivers to the open source ones. Everything else is the defaults.
