Uplay is never free......money may not be pasted but it takes a part of you with every disconnect and bug....
If it's not on steam or GOG then it's a no go for me. Gave up on Origin, UPlay, etc. a long time ago. Nasty pieces of software IMO

origin is good to me now, but I am in the "if its on GOG I'm not getting it anywhere else"

Is the software invasive? I have been searching for EULA conflicts with UPlay, and cant quite turn up any angry rants about their privacy statement. Will probably just sit down this sunday and read through it, but would prefer a short handed response from someone who's already looked at it
it crashes a lot, is added drm on top of steam, need internet.... sure theres privacy stuff too, buuuut it's just shit drm

OK, I see what you mean. I'm not quite as concerned about bugs and crashes nearly as I am more against companies running a crawler through your hardware, just so they could sell it to marketers..
I mean, I anticipate that happening with my CellPhone; but I treat my PC as the bastion to my digital privacy.
I don't think they try to do much data harvesting, program seems too low quality to actually manage that. Crashed a lot for me last time I tired it. Wouldn't install to any other place but default etc etc. Like a house with a leaky roof, power problems, rats and is on fire every now and then. Class A product, lol.
