Okay I'm gonna get straight to the point. I'm a broke teen. I like to mess around with video. I can't afford Adobe. I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio, which is good, but I was wondering if anyone can help me put together a list of alternatives for the creative suite?
Meaning Photoshop, after effects, premiere, etc.
I know about GIMP and Lightworks but are there better ones?

Illustrator>Inkscape
After Effects>eh, not much really... you can do some stuff in Blender?

Those are about the best. Now, none of those will REPLACE Adobe software for a high level professional user, but for most home use purposes, they will do fine.
Cinelerra is trying to fill the AE slot there, but it's just for linux AFAIK

checked alternativeto.net but nothing... seems that free video editing sticks to the old windows movie maker formula and there are no higher tiers for free

If you can commit to learning how to use blender, it is actually pretty powerful. Or so I've heard. Haven't fully committed myself, I'd almost rather write my own nle from scratch...
