Hey guys. A few, let's say weeks ago, something happened and my case became dead silent. Usually it's coma silent. I liked it, but I knew this is something bad. Checked my cpu fans - running, GPU fans - running, case fans - not running.
Checked my fan controller, it's integrated on the front panel of the case, it was 12V cause I was trying to record some stuff and needed the cooling. Turn it down to 7 V - the fans was running. 5 or 12V - the fans was not running.
I opened it up, no visible born marks or anything, 7V is usually my default for daily use, so I am still using it.
My question is: is this a common issue with Fractal fan controllers, can I do anything about it and are Fractal selling separate fan controllers so I can get a new one and replace this one.
Thanks :)
I have a fractal fan controller burn out on me........ but I had six fans plugged into three headers so it wasn't exactly their fault.
EDIT: But sincei ti s integrated into the case (iirc), fractal might work with you. Should be covered under warranty. Give them a shout and see what they say.
Not sure if that will work. I mean granted, i have their product, but i live in a small country in the corner of europe, and i am guessing fractal will not just hand me new fan controller without making me pay for it, and transportation, and everything else... I may just buy the 10$ LianLi PT-FN01, which is functionally the same. 3 fans, 3 speeds... With some glue or melted plastic it will fit right at home on the place of the original fractal thingy...
And they said "give us your address and we will send you a new one..."
I really did not expected that.
Lately a lot of nice stuff happened, that I honestly did not expect to happen.
Fractal customer service is pretty great, that's why they are my go to whenever i put together a new build.
I have some issues with their recent design decisions, but I must say they really surprised me.
And I am still waiting for updated version of the Arc series. I am a bit worried about what they will do with it, but still...
