FPS Problems

A few days ago I started playing Far Cry Blood Dragon and was experiencing huge fps issues. It usually played in the high 50's. Instead it was mid 20's and looked lower. I thought it might not be too bad so I left the game and said I'd try again later. I realised 2 days ago that it was actually low fps in everything. Moving windows around the screen lags, TV shows are like slideshows, and obviously games are stuttering too. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

What are your CPU and GPU usage levels? What are your temperatures?

Murphy's Law: I went to check and everything was normal again.

Is it possible you had something running in the background? Scheduled antivirus scan, defrag?
