Foxclone stuck at "calculating bitmap data"

Using foxclone earlier this weekend and Monday I was able to easily restore my LM 20 Cinnamon and LM 20.1 Cinnamon installs with no problem ( LM 20 AND 20.1 have been installed ** mind you…separate times only one install at a time not both on the same drive** on my intel 750 800GB pciExpress ssd with the drive containing the system image via Foxclone a 1TB samsung 860 evo ssd. )

I remember Wendell in a video a long time back saying something about don’t use a usb 2.0 thumb drive as the Foxclone boot media or it might illustrate this hanging problem.

Well I confirmed that on the first try. Thus I grabbed a brand new 32GB usb 3.0 thumb drive and properly loaded Foxclone version 44 ( Foxclone backup, restore, and cloning utility I always select the 660MB version at the top left hand corner if that matters).

The first and second times I did the restoration, it went flawlessly

Restoration= (2nd option from the far left with 1st option being Backup. I have not yet tried “Clone”)

For some unknown reason today 2-16-21, it was stuck at " calculating bitmap data" for more than 30 minutes easily.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the intel drive nor the 860 samsung ssd as well as the brand new thumb drive. So I know it isn’t a hardware problem.

Can a foxclone ( installation) get just randomly corrupted? Is there a way to fix this? I loved using the software much more than clonezilla, but thank God for whoever created Timeshift as that saved my bacon today and that it still works.

For those that encountered the same thing I did ( backing up an nvme ssd and trying to restore it using " Backup" and " Restore" tab options vs the “Clone” option)… Andy , a dev of Foxclone, has been in touch with me often throughout this past week. Allegedly versus 45 is out now and he claims to have been to solve this “calculating bitmap data” issue or has diminished it.

But he recommended I try the Clone option. I have so far far three in a row ( clone as backup…clone back to nvme drive to restore, since and repeat another two times) have all worked flawlessly with and odd error that shows up and vanishes too fast for me to get a picture of.

BUT, the clone restoration works 100% every time and everything that should be there…is there. ( shrugs)
