Found a game thats harder to run than Crisis 3... and its not what you think

Minecraft with shadders yo. its brings my Dual GPU settup to its knees. with Battlefeild 4 i can get 130 FPS easy at ultra. but with minecraft shadders its like 25 fps lol

can second this.
KUDA shaders on ultra + conquest texturepack

That's probably because it's un-optimized as hell.
Not made for dual GPU setups at all, and maybe that causes the most problems that your GPU's can't communicate very well with the game itself or somethint.

Could also be very poor programming.

And of course, if you use extreme large resolution textures on a high resolution screen with an amazing renderdistance and extreme shaders, I'm not very surprised if that in combination with poor programming screws up your framerate.

In minecraft?

Despite everything being made of blocks, it is possible for the textures themselves to be extremely high depending upon whether your using them or not. The stock textues shouldn't be causing the game to lag as my HD4000 can play it just fine.

Rather than optimisation it's because of MineCraft being written in Java.

Like others have said, Its probably just poor optimization.

I have played games that lag my 4770k and gtx780ti that didn't look half as good as battlefield 3, let alone Crysis 3 and battlefield 4. Its also easy to make Skyrim bog down a computer with poorly optimized graphics mods, even though Skyrim is hardly a demanding game.

Max_RTW has an extremely valid point, Minecraft is by far the least optimized game in existence that i have ever come across, So sadly your point is only semi valid in this case.

I think Metro: Last Light can be a game that will bring a system to it's knees easily

Ha, You think minecraft is bad? Try GTA 4

20FPS on a GTX 780 yo

? i got like 60 FPS with a GTA 4 on a R9270x

Depends on the rig, It has terrible compatability and scaling on more powerful systems. I was getting 50FPS on my GTX 560. same setting on my 780 with fixes I couldnt break 30.

That's the point;

You can very easily modify minecraft and turn it into a very power-hungry game.

The worst frame rate I got on GTA 4 was 30FPS and that was on an overclocked Celeron E3400 with a GTX 260.

I remember that shitty game like it was yesterday :')

It was so poorly optimized that even the most expensive and best performing computers (even nowadays) can't run the game because it was such a shitty console port.

Dem days, dem dayz

um im pretty sure it is a PC game. it was on pc first. maybe becaus developers dont care much about Java lol

oh think you mean GTA4 lol

I can attest to this. Although, I disabled SLI and got a higher, more stable framerate. I am probably using different shaders than you though. Also, I believe I have a memory leak with my shaders, because it will start at around 1.4 gigs of Vram and climb to 1.6 gigs, and begin to artifact pretty heavily, then crash. I have just been too lazy to fix it since it only takes a couple seconds to start minecraft back up and get back on my server.

I dare you to run Wolfnstein: The New Order on ultra.

still see higher fps than GTA 4
