Forced ge-force experience login? Yah you can F**K right off Nvidia

So i fired up GFE to use shadow play for recording game replays and was greeted with this BS that you can't bypass.

I really can't stand this crap when it come to PC peripherals. I don't want to make an account for my new mouse, keyboard, GPU, ect.

Use 2.0 or use OBS. The new version is also allowed to collect data on you.

That is what i did.

Yup there is a post on the Nvidia forums about that.

Im glad i made the switch to linux

Linux doesn't have GFE to begin with, and you can choose to not install it on Windows. Not really sure why switching to Linux matters in this situation, or why it's even relevant...

They have said they will do that like a few months ago. Nobody cared... So they did it.
Next step - account on Fractal Design website to be able to open my case.

Yeah in this case thats the equivalent of just not installing the gforce experience software. Is it that big of an issue though? The answer is always the same, just stop using it.

for a optimus laptop most of the setting you need to change have to go through GFE

I noticed when I upgraded my Ge-Force drivers.

Not cool Nvidia, Not cool.

The answer is simple: Stop buying nvidia products. The right to vote is in your wallet.

This is why opensource is important. And why im so tempted to pick up an AMD GPU for Linux next time.

Although to be fair nvidia has been better for gaming on Linux, but thee desktop experience generally sucks and there are other boot bugs like broken plymouth etc..

I assume there will be pirated versions of the drivers soon enough. Just wait. Soon(TM)

Yea thats going to be great.. Windows 10, disable telemetry, disable cortanta, install application needed to force disable updates ( which may or may not work as time goes by ), install virus software, install firewall, install trojan, malware whatever blocker, install nvidia experience blocker, install mouse control center, install keyboard control center ( but disable harvesting as it is a Razer product) etc..

Its getting to be like some sort of obstacle course challenge, who needs games on Windows when you spend all your time disabling crap ware.

Linux might be less work to get set up!

Yeah windows is getting pretty bad, and this is not helping the situation. Glad I got rid of my 760 for a fury x lol.

I just installed Mint xfce on a virtual box. It took ( and i timed it ) 5 and a half minuets, reboot updates took 3 minuets. Done.

Drivers included? If it is then time wise you just kicked windows's ass.

and watch it uninstall half your shit and change settings at least once a month. Shit is getting old :(

Thats the Linux philosophy. All the drivers comes packaged.

Just checking. I wish windows could be like that. At this rate I think I could switch my mom's laptop over to linux and she would be completely fine as long as I get ms office working.
