For any pianists out there, what is your favorite keyboard switch?

I hate the way keyboards feel, but have never tried any mechanical switches. Theres no local frys or microcenter near me otherwise I'd go there to try it out. I'm also a pianist by trade, so if there are any of such ilk out in tek world, let me know what switch(s) feel the best to you. Danke!

do you have a WorstBuy you could go to? (dont buy it from there, but still)

otherwise Brown switches are a good bet

ha touche. they had one floor model, a severely abused razer from 2010 with no hints as to what type of switch. So less than useless, as was the floor guy who told me to get a ps4 for games instead of bothering with a pc. Im assuming that the weight of the switch wont bother me since grand pianos can vary between 35-65 grams

In the Walmarts that I have been to (which is about 6 in all), there is always a Razor keyboard or two on hand, and you can always get to the keys through the packaging. They tend to be blue switches as well fwik, so I am guessing that was what you saw at the BestBuy as well.

EDIT: Just checked and it seems that the new Razer stuff all uses Green and Orange, but I have read in some places that the blues and green feel basically the same (and that the quality of the products has fallen in recent years, but I steer clear of Razer as a general rule).

I prefer cherry mx greens, they're basically heavier blues. Blues are 50g to actuate and 65g to bottom out while greens are 80g to actuate and 105g to bottom out. At least based off of this: http://techreport.com/review/24461/a-first-look-at-cherry-mx-green-key-switches

Thanks for the responses! I actually am taking a trip in a few weeks and there'll be a microcenter on route, so I'll stop in and try out as many switches as possible. The greens' weight sounds enticing, but the actuation click might drive me ape****. I'll post here again once I finish at microcenter
