I'm looking at pcspecialist.com and wondering about the socket i should go with.
My price limit is £1200 but I do need to buy a monitor with the pc from the same place.
My main quandary is which socket i should go with.
Getting LGA1150 with the 4690k doesn't allow me to get the monitor i want and also disallows my purchasement of the K30 corsair keyboard (the only decent keyboard on the site).
I'm not looking for a recommendation on building the pc by hand. I want either advice on where to get my pc or information on the FM2+ socket.
Honestly grabbing a Athlon X4 760K (FM2) or even a 860K (FM2+) is a great choice. They are very good CPU's for the money. Going from what was basically a 760K, I did not notice much difference in gaming when getting my 4690K.
Productivity did improve quite a bit, as well as the synthetic benchmarks I love.
I would definitely go with the Athlon especially if you want all of your desired peripherals.
The Athlon 860K IS the Kaveri 7850k. Its just without the graphics. So you can save a bit of cash and grab the 860K. It's an excellent CPU for the money. You don't really need a 7850K in all honesty. I kinda will argue that the 860K makes more sense to grab than the 7850K simply due to price and, using AMD Dual-Graphics makes absolutely no-sense. Since a cheap GPU will outperform a dual-graphics setup.
The site I'm using unfortunately doesn't let me use an 860K. Only APU's. Getting the 7850k won't dent my budget too much so is there any upside to using the 7850K? Any cpu benefits? I won't be using the iGPU at all.
Got any ideas of who can build my pc? They need great customer support and great quality.
There is nothing wrong with the 7850K. if you can get it, great. its an excellent APU. You aren't going to see a difference in performance between a 7850K and a 860k except maybe in temperatures but that's about it.
Also I can't really speak on where to get your computer components. I don't live in Europe sorry =[
Well I understand you're situation. An AMD build is exactly what you'll want to go with. Really unless you need ultimate power at the tips of your fingers AMD will be fine for anything gaming related. FM2+ Is a good choice for the most part, really your processor isn't super critical. If It's a recent generation quad core of reasonable power (oh say 3.2ghz+) You'll be fine. It's your graphics card you'll want to look after the most. I personally only use a 750k. With the 1200 pounds you can actually build a really fucking nice AMD based gaming pc. Look for a decently powerful quad core like I think the 860K is probably one of the best choices. Try to get a cpu without APU cores if you can. Since you wont be using them. Also keep in mind for gaming 1600mhz ram is fine. After you do pick out which processor you want though spend as much of the remainder on a good gpu.
