I have heard that FM1 fans will fit on FM2 sockets because they use the same fan standard. Is this a fact? If it is, would this be a good fan?

FM2 uses the same retention clips as 939 , AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, and FM1, so you're good to go, but at that price I would much more highly recomend a corrsair H60. It supports FM2 and will probably get you much lower temps. I've currently got a i5 2500k @4.2GHZ under my H60.

Cool, thanks man. I am still trying to decide whether I want to put an aftermarket cooler on my build or not. I am splitting the price of the build with my entire family as my Christmas present and I still have to buy Windows lol. Heres my build if ya wanna take a look
