I have a 32GB flash drive usb 3.0, just all the details in case you need them. It's just a home brand from a local store called Microcenter. I was using it for awhile and it randomly became write protected. I have tried to format the disk and it wont let me because its write protected. i have also tried to use kill disk on it and that fails. any help would be greatly appreciated.
turn off write protection?
also, i've seen it where the drives have PHYSICAL switch that locks them in write protected
Commissar, why don't you instead of giving a really obvious answer like "turn off write protection" actaully explain to him how to do it instead of just being annoying.
umm, did you read the rest of it?
Yeah it still says a vague answer "turn off write protection" then an alternative answer of a physical switch. I can't help him here but I wouldn't leave him a answer as obnoxious and counter productive as "turn it off."
I have no personal experience with this but a quick google search and troubleshooting logic brings me to 2 solutions for you

Try doing an what he says in this video, always works when im having problems with one of my flash drives
I had this happen once, If you are on windows:
1.Go into the start menue
2.Right click the "computer" button then click manage
3.Go to the disk management thing
4.Delete the partition on the flash drive
5.make a new one (should probably use either ntfs, fat, or fat32)
ya realize that you can embed.....

Sometimes it happens because there is a virus in your flash drive. Actually flash drive has no partitions so you can not use disk management thing and redo a partition of flash drive. Few things you can do is first is turn off the write protection. Secondly, if you are using a legal copy of antivirus then check your antivirus external devices settings. And third is go to cmd and allow a proper path and use format command to your flash drive. It will help to format your flash drive. bulk flash drives
Thanks for this important information. It really helps me. I always used bulk flash drives and some time I face such problems. Thanks.
