Fixed probem

Hey, I am new to linux and trying to get going, have a 1tb WD green hard drive i am trying to get Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 LTS I have gotten to onto the disk from a dvd (only thing it except) and it will now not boot at all from that hard drive I have been trying for a while. I need some help plz We might try to boot from the DVD again to the disk but I am new to all this and don't know for sure if it'll work. But if anyone knows or has delt with this before plz let me know i'd like to get it up and running as soon as possible :)

Are you saying you installed Ubuntu onto the WD Green but it wont boot?

Ubuntu allows you to run from whatever media it has been put on. So an install disc will allow you to try the OS from the disc before you need to install it to your HD. ("Try before you buy.")

That said, did you actually run the install, and install Ubuntu onto the HD?

Secondly, did you set boot priorities?

First thing I would do is, open your BIOS and select the ubuntu HDD as the priority boot device and then save and exit. Reboot the system and see if that works. If it doesn't, re-insert your install disc and install Ubuntu again.

yes, I was but then we tried the process all over again and it worked. but thanks just got it up and running a few mins ago :)
