Hello everyone! My wife is making me play Heroes of the storm but i cannot get it running on my rig. I have to update it in my bio but it is as follows: ROG maximus VII, 4970k, Noctua, SLI Asus strix 970s, 32 gb of hyper x ram 2400 mhz, corsair RM1000, samsung 840 256 gb SSD, 4 tb, 1,tb.
Now that all of that is out of the way. I am having some weird issues that I cant seem to find online. I'll try and attach screen shots of it. I did find that it is a problem for most SLI users and I tried the methods they suggested. Turning on stereoscopic 3d, disabling one card, disabling sli, forcing the game to play on GPU 1. All with no or worse results.
Please help me to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
this is with 3d turned on and turned off in the game.
3d turned on and turned on in game.
standard SLI config, this one is at least "playable." SLI enabled in all aspects.
I hope someone out there knows of an easy fix for this, as I would love to play. And sorry for what seems like huge pictures. If you could tell me how to re-size them i would also appreciate that as well. I see the size portion in the code but I have now idea what would be an appropriate size.
Find the settings for this exe, force SLI render type 2 in nvidia control panel.
Post results.
So no luck. I'm pretty sure that you were talking about "force alternative frame 2" I tried that and force alternate frame 1, single-gpu, and forcing cuda gpus to 1 and 2. Also, i just noticed that it isn't saving any of my changes even though I am clicking apply. I did try and force everything in nvidia inspector and no dice. Every time I make a change and exit out (after I made sure I applied the settings) they change back to nvidia recommended. Even nvidia inspector is doing it.
it keeps saying GPU cout four. I change it to two or auto select, apply changes and save a copy of it. open it back up and it is changed back to four. looks like I am off for the night. I'll check back in the morning and hit it with a fresh brain.
Nvidia control panel, not inspector.
I tried it in both. Both will not let me save the settings so I have to figure out why that's happening. I am going to try removing one of my cards to make sure that there isn't something up with them (although I know that it should work fine and that it is 100% an sli problem).
Any ideas why it keeps changing my settings back after I apply them? I disabled Nvidia experience and it is still doing that. Maybe I should try editing the profile on experience and see if that changes anything. I'll report back later with my findings.
So I got it all fixed. I had to uninstall everything to do with nvidia, take a card out, re-install drivers, play the game, add the second card back in, play the game, then add the SLI bridge and enable SLI. Now everything works.
I did try to just remove a card and play. That didn't work, I was getting the same thing as before. The weird triangles or just black screen. did that as above and it worked. Also, opening up nvidia control panel and running as administer stopped the problems I was having with saving my settings.
One other thing, if you are interested in seeing how many fps you are getting along with other info the command is Ctrl + Alt + f
Thanks for the input. Have a good one!!!
edit
If anyone stumbles on this later the link that I use for uninstalling everything is provided below.
