I'm tired of using my AOC monitor's audio output and it doesn't play nice with linux so I'm thinking about purchasing a good pair of speakers.
I found these M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 as linked to by this page wirecutter
$100 is an absolute maximum. These speakers look nice but I would like to get an opinion from somebody who knows more about audio than me. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks :)
M-Audio gear is indeed very nice, they wont colour the sound as much as run of the mill pc speakers. Pretty good price too. I'd personally grab em', but for peace of mind head to a local store that sells decent gear and listen to as many speakers as you can with the music etc you like.
Good call on the monitors. They came wtih a 90 day warranty even though refurbished.
Far superior to anything I've ever owned.
