First time overclocking, need help

I want  to overclock my cpu and gpu because I want better performance. I built this computer around a few months back in 2012, probably around August or something. I have no idea what to do so help will be greatly appreciated. thx.

First of all which cpu cooler are you using? (stock or aftermarket)

If you are using the stock cooler get an aftermarket cooler first because there is really no use in overclocking a CPU with the stock cooler.

is the coolermaster hyper 212 evo good enough? thats what im using

yeah you can overclock your CPU quite a bit with that cooler.

You can probably find a ton of overclocking guides if you search for them on youtube, CPU and RAM overclocking usually involves changing settings in the BIOS and GPU uses a program on your PC i.e. MSI Afterburner.
