This is my first time building a PC I have a budget of about $700-900 dollars. I don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse or operating system. This would be primarily used as a gaming computer. I am not sure if I want to go AMD or Intel. Any advice would be great.
Any preference on the size of the computer? Are you planning on overclocking?
mid tower preference, but full tower is fine too
And about the overclocking, not planning on doing that.
This should work for just fine

+1 that will game nicely
for $30 more you can get the
FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor

other than that nice specs \m/
+1
Could have a beefier/better quality power supply, though.
I will admit I did cut corners a tiny bit on the power supply in order to fit the 280X into the build, but if the OP is willing to go over budget a little ($20) I got a build with a Seasonic gold

Yeah ... OP should consider the Seasonic and the FX8350 ... $60 is worth every penny
