EDIT: I just wanted to clarify that I do already have all the parts. They've come in the mail and are sitting on the dinning room table.

This is going to be my first time building a desktop, but I have taken apart various laptops here and there over the years. The purpose of this topic is to hopefully get some guidance on questions I may have before I get sucked into the building process. I intend to just build it all at once rather than put a few pieces in and take breaks (If I can avoid it that is).

Question 1: Is CRYORIG CP7 thermal paste compound considered "good"? Has anyone used it before. It came with the cooler, but I don't know if I should go out and try to buy something different.

Question 2: Should I bother spending the money for an anti static wrist strap/mat if my working area is clean? Working with laptops in the past I never really had this stuff at my disposal and had never had an issue. Not sure if this is really a big issue or just a few people having bad luck.

Question 3: Should I avoid using magnetic tools if I have non magnetized ones available? I really hated dropping screws into holes of the laptops when putting them back together because my tools weren't magnetized.

Just be sure to ground yourself. Like touch bare metal. And I don't think magnetic tools would do any harm to the components.

Question 1. I never had a problem with the stuff they smear on an AMD stock cooler and skylake runs allot cooler.
However on a top end build you don't want to be saying later on" Wish I used the good stuff" You obviously went all out on this build.
Question 2. I never have. Stuff today is far superior then my first 486 build.
Question 3. I use them and there great. If your using a power driver make sure the clutch is adjusted properly. Hand tools are best.
