First PC - under 1100, thoughts?

Hey guys, it's my first time building a PC and I could use some experienced suggestions/comments. This build is pretty heavily influeced by the under-1300 system Logan did a few months back.

I need it for some heavy gaming and multi-tasking programs like maya, photoshop, and flash.

Does this look like a good system? Any parts I should switch out for better ones? I have a decent budget for the rig (under 1500 Canadian).

Any help would be appreicated.

Thats definitely a pretty serious gaming system(clueless about flash etc), just one question for you: How much is that NZXT hale 90 750? Is it around 160 US by any chance? If it is its starting to thread on Corsair and Seasonic prices, so i would recomend you take a look at the Seasonic X750 Gold or the Corsair HX750.

The Hale 90's 170 canadian, the Corsair HX750 is only 120.

The hale is pretty amazing, i'd trust it as much as a corsair psu. Also buy the unlocked version of that cpu, it's like $20 extra but worth the unlock.

OK, sounds good, for some reason passed over over the unlocked version.

Is the hale better than the corsair though, becuase it's 50 bucks more?

The only difference i can see Ikerkin is the warranty, corsair has a 7 year warranty vs the nzxt with a 5 year( according to newegg). The amps are the same the pci-e connectors are also the same etc.

Any other advice?

Looks great ikerkin! Its going to be a serious gaming system.

I'd switch out the ram for something a bit faster. This should do the trick.

Other than that, the build looks great.

i have pretty much the same setup but with a seasnic psu & gigabyte ud3h + 7950 & it runs amazing, all these parts make a very balanced system

Faster, and 5 bucks cheaper, sounds about right.

Would you recommend those parts over the ones I have listed?

Or are they around the same level, and it's just a personal preference thing?

Actually, one other thing.

I assumed the sound was good enough with the ASRock, am I right, or do I need a sound card?
