Hi, currently thinking about starting my first build. I have been looking at parts and watching plenty of videos but struggling to make a couple of decisions. The PC will be for getting into gaming and everyday stuff. The budget will be about £700-900 but at the top limit will need to include a moniter. Picked some parts and was looking for help finishing it and any opinions on the parts I have selection. Would Appreciate the help.
By switching over to the AMD platform Ragingh4vok has come up with what I think is a really nice little system. Are you willing to look at a system with an AMD CPU?
Would prefer to stick with intel unless theres a good reason to go amd. Also not sure at all about a gpu looking to spend about £180 could maybe stretch a bit further. Would appreciate help with the rest of the parts i havn't picked yet, thanks
Heres a good reason to go AMD- It beats intel 9 times out of 10 when it comes to gaming.
Theres honestly no real reason to go intel for this, and you're also going to lock yourself into what is now basically a dead socket. Grab an 8350 with a 990 board and OC the crap out of it. Itll last you forever.
If you look at my profile you will see I have both systems. The AM3+ platform will be around for some time as it is new. Check Logan’s videos and you will see he indorsed the FX-6300 CPU as well as the 8 core AMD CPU. I’m guessing friends have said to go with Intel because AMD is, well, we won’t say here. This latest series from AMD is excellent. Very over clockable, sturdy, and not much more power to run annually than the Intel. Let us know what you think. The nice thing to know is the people on this site are only trying to help people. No one is going to try to steer you wrong. If you feel it must be Intel we will come up with something for that too.
