First PC build compatibility check!

I am a first time Pc builder and I want to build one (obviously). Any suggestions to change my build to make it better is always welcome. This is a gaming pc and will use two monitors. I am on a budget(kinda) and would like to have the build under $3000. Also on the dual monitors, if you can find me a better setup go ahead and  suggest it (dual stand preffered).

Lets get started.

I'd get 2 of the same same ssd's and put them in raid zero and use that to boot and get a mechanical drive for storage because 128 gb for the os drive is kinda small when you wanna install games so 128 + 128 in raid zero would give you 256 for games/programs and double your speed then pick up a 1 tb drive usually under 100 bucks for media

also i like the memory you have choosen better than giga's (sorry giga) because the board he has recommended will run it at the advertised speed natively... his is higher performance but truthfully you won't even notice

Your build is good, all I can comment on it.

Here's my opinion on stuff just if you're looking for other options, also a competitive PC gamer.

Also reason why I'm going with a 2500k instead of a newer ivy bridge or such, you really won't garner that much more performance for gaming (main computers use I suppose) with it, also you can negate that 5-10% performance increase with it in games with a really nice overclock on the 2500k, since it can OC more than the Ivy Bridge can.

Thanks guys but I would like a full tower case, so I can have plenty of room to work with inside the computer. Other than that I really like some of your suggestions (RAM,CPU/COOLER, etc.)

asus recommends you run you memory at the spec they are if it the board can support it, which it does, asus wouldn't put digi vrms on the CPU and Ram just to run them at 1600, its a 3 thousand dollar build, I could've put case 7 1600, the faster the better whether you need it at the moment or not

a faster bigger SSD will be a lot less trouble and cheaper, I only put the space that he said he needed
