So of course I can't buy all the parts for my first build all at once. Especially with bills and a budget. So here's my question, What's the first part you would recommend buying?
Graphics Card
Motherboard
CPU
I wanna try and get the most expensive parts out of the way first.
List your specs here first. Most likely, it would be the graphics card, depending on the current specs since buying a new motherboard would require you buying a new CPU as well. Again, this is also dependent.
Id start with the GFX card first, because you can immediately use it if you have an x16 slot in your computer already, then CPU, then Motherboard, RAM, PSU, HDD/SSD, Case. Just my opinion.
I think the best way is to save up and buy all the parts at once because there might be newer greater and perhaps cheaper parts out by the time you finish collecting all your parts.
The thing with saving money to buy all at once is i'm bad with it, no lie. (drake pun not intended). By the time I hit $500 i'll start buying shoes and clothes and other items. Fast food especially. The CPU has been that price for a while so I was thinking the Graphics card or the Motherboard. (Free Borderlands 2 with purchase of 660ti)! Limited time of course.
Another question is a liquid cooler really neccesary? I'm not running 2 GPU's, i would think only if I'm really stressing the cpu with major overclocking.
If youre only going to overclock the CPU, id look into something like the Corsair H100 and other AiO solutions similar to it. Itll give you the cooling performance that you need to overclock.
On my next build im going to go a bit weird. Im going to make a freon cooled computer. But that is still a few months away before i have the equipment to build the piping.
