First gaming rig build

Hi there all,

So I decided to finally build my gaming rig after some time. My aim with my rig build is for it to be able to run all current games smoothly and with medium/high settings, while also giving me a few years of fun and the capability to upgrade over the years if neceserry.

This is the plan I had in mind, feedback would be appreciated as well as changes and improvements.

I would reccommend this GPU instead of the HIS 7870.It does get warmer but it does perform better than the HIS 7870

Here is a review for the GPU:http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/club_3d_7870_joker_xt_edition_review/16

Also i think this  RAM would be better

Hi there Locustis,

Thank you for your reply, my question for you however is. Why should I switch the GPU and the RAM for those that you recommended? In what aspect are they better than the ones I choose already?

I would not get the OCZ power supply.  I had one for about a year and a half and it died on me (and may have even taking my GPU with it, unless it's just a coincidence that they started crapping out at the same time...).  When it comes to power supplies it's pretty important to buy a good one so I would recommend this:

it's about 18 euros more than the OCZ, but it will most likely last you longer and have less risk of damaging your computer.  Also, it's efficiency will be much better and it has nice braded cables.  Here's some reviews of each to hopefully sway you!

OCZ review: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2008/11/12/ocz_700w_modxstream_pro_power_supply/9  (Spoiler:  it FAILS the testing)

XFX review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/XFX-750-W-Black-Edition-Power-Supply-Review/933/10  (Spoiler:  it recieves a GOLD award)

I chose that GPU because it almost as fast as a 7950 which cost around 280 euros, but the the GPU is only 220 euros.I can also speak from my own experience that it is a good GPU,but as is said before it does get hot. That's why i linked you the review so you could look at some of the results

I chose the ram because it was cheaper and it was a 1x8 GB so if you want more RAM you can easily upgrade.

dual channel ram is probabbly a better choice, could throw 2 more 4's if you ever wanna upgrade nbd.
